Distribution of Loxosceles reclusa

  Georgia

L. reclusa is not common to Georgia.  Approximately 100 brown recluse spiders have been documented in the state’s history. [1]

Counties where L. reclusa were found (31 out of 159) are shown on the map.  The scarcity of specimens and the pattern of the spider’s presence suggests that the northwestern corner of the state falls on the southeastern border of the spider’s native distribution.
