Basal cell carcinoma is induced by ultraviolet radiation, and is the most common type of skin cancer.  While it is rare to metastasize, it is locally invasive and destructive.

Appearance: May present as a papule or nodule, often with ulcer or crust; borders may be rolled; may be waxy, semitranslucent, or pink in color.
